DON’T BE DISAPPOINTED IN 2025: It was meant to be a bridge

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my last decade as a shaman, it’s this:
those dark, shadowy, shame-filled thoughts you think are just you… aren’t.
The thoughts that whisper, “I should have done more.”
The ones that say, “Why am I not further along?”
The quiet comparisons. The private disappointment. The sense that everyone else seems to be moving forward while you’re standing still.
Almost everyone is carrying some version of these thoughts — silently. And then, on top of that, feeling ashamed for having them. Ashamed for questioning themselves. Ashamed for feeling tired. Ashamed for wondering if they somehow missed their moment.
That’s how the cycle tightens.
Thought → shame → self-judgment → more exhaustion → more shame.
So just for today, I want to invite you — gently — to step out of that cycle. Especially if you’re looking back on 2025 with a heavy feeling in your chest.
I’ll start with myself.
As I sit on the edge of this year, I’ve caught myself looking back and thinking, “Damn… what did I actually do?” I see unfinished projects. Ideas still circulating. Plans that moved forward in small spurts instead of sweeping breakthroughs or that just plain sat in a lull. And for a moment, the old reflex kicks in — the urge to judge, to measure, to label the year as somehow lacking.
But the shaman in me knows something my inner critic forgets:
Nothing in creation is the result of willpower alone.
Almost everything is a co-creation.
You have a say—but you don’t have the only say.
Timing matters. Other people’s energy matters. The unseen matters. Divine timing matters. That’s why some things arrive effortlessly… and others come only when the conditions are right.
And yes—other people’s co-creative (or even destructive) energies can absolutely affect outcomes.
One of the biggest lessons this year reminded me of is this:
Protect Your Creations
Your ideas, dreams, hopes, and visions are seeds.
Not everyone deserves access to them.
Share your dreams only with people who will nurture them—not with those who might unconsciously project doubt, fear, jealousy, or toxic energy onto those precious little seeds you’ve planted that are still yet sprouting.
When Things Don’t Go as Planned (And Why That’s Not the End)
This year brought a big disappointment for me around a grant application. The second time around, I truly believed it was meant to happen. My business coach felt confident. My psychic and shamanic friends felt confident. We went to present with full confidence we’d be celebrating a win that week.
And then… we lost.
I was completely shocked.
After some time sitting with my disappointment in silence, I did what I always do—I took it to the spirit world and asked plainly: What the actual F happened?
What came through was layered and humbling.
Yes—one individual involved carried negative energy toward our project, and it influenced the outcome. But my angels also showed me something deeper: the timing was off.
There were personal and logistical collisions unfolding beneath the surface—factors that could have created complications or even penalties later on. What felt like rejection was actually last-minute protection.
They showed me that some of my deeper intentions had shifted, and because of that, the universe needed to pause the reward. Not deny it—postpone it.
They asked me to trust the timing.
They asked me to apply again.
And most of all… they asked me to rest.
Here are the reasons my guides shared for why things didn’t and don’t always unfold the way we hope:
Yes, sometimes another person’s energy affects the outcome
Something better is still forming
You’re being asked to ask for more
It’s an act of protection
You need more time
You’re meant to focus elsewhere for now (for me, that meant rest, family, and healing)
Not Every Year Is Meant to Be Monumental
I’m someone who sets ridiculously big goals for herself. And when 2025 didn’t reflect the completion of those goals, I found myself feeling quietly defeated.
But my guides gently reminded me:
2018–2023 were years of massive shedding, growth, transformation, and vision-building.
2025 was different.
They showed me this year as a season of incubation. A year of recalibration. A year of reflection.
They smiled and asked me softly,
“Aren’t you tired?”
Yes. I was.
Not every year needs to be cataclysmic.
Not every season is meant for harvest.
2025 Was A ‘Winter’ Year
Winter isn’t failure.
Winter is conservation.
Winter is quiet work beneath the surface.
My guides showed me 2025 not as a failure — but as a winter season. As a bridge. A pause. A permission slip.
For you, this may have looked like saying no to things you once would have pushed through. Pulling back from obligations that drained you. Letting go of roles, relationships, or expectations that no longer fit — even if you couldn’t yet name what was coming next.
It may have looked like rest showing up where ambition used to live. Or your body asking for more care. Or plans being delayed, redirected, or quietly dismantled so something more honest could eventually take their place.
For some, this year brought grief that softened you. For others, clarity that arrived only after disappointment. For many, it meant rethinking what success actually costs — and deciding you’re no longer willing to pay with your health, your joy, or your nervous system.
This was a year that taught discernment. A year that gave you permission to stop forcing. A year that asked you to imagine new ways of living and creating that don’t require burnout as the price of belonging or achievement.
And 2026?
Think of 2025 as winter.
And 2026–2028 as spring.
A season of emergence.
Surprises.
Manifestation.
Harvest.
