5 Questions to Ask Yourself When You Feel Stuck or Lost

Because feeling stuck might actually be part of the process.
There comes a time in everyone’s cycle of development and growth — whether that’s in business, health, relationships, finances, or spiritual evolution — where you feel like you’ve hit a plateau. Suddenly you’re not moving forward anymore. You feel stagnant. You feel stuck. And even worse, sometimes it feels like you’re backtracking… like you’ve somehow regressed. But the thing I like to remind my clients and sometimes need to be reminded of myself is that: Regression is a natural part of progression.
It happens because, like the seasons changing, it invites awareness. It asks you to stop and actually notice what’s shifting — inside and around you. But just like when we’re deep in any season, we eventually get over it. We forget what the other seasons even feel like. We forget that change is normal. That momentum returns. And in those moments, we’re actually being asked to do an internal climate check.
And yes — I know there are places in the world that don’t have big seasonal shifts, and there are people like that too… fine in the same work, relationship, or financial “climate” for years without wanting anything different. And I’m not judging it. It’s just not me. I came here to experience more — and if you’re reading this, I think you did too.
So when we find ourselves in one of those change-of-season moments — that is the time to recognize it as an opportunity for recalibration. An opening for self-reflection, for analysis, for possibly changing direction. How extreme that change needs to be? That’s entirely up to you. And remember, just like the seasons, this might be temporary. You may decide that in a few months or years, you want to revisit some of the old ways you’ve stepped away from. So don’t go burning any bridges or towers just yet (wink wink).
When You Hit That Plateau
The first step is simply recognizing it. Easier said then done because so commonly my clients come to me mid-spiral, they’ve been moving in circles and overthinking and wracking their brains and expending alot of unnecessary energy. This is where I remind them, and I’m here reminding you (and myself!) … To consider that you might be in a recalibration season. An opportunity for analysis, for self reflection, and in some cases an opportunity to change direction. The extremity of change is entirely up to you. And remember, like the seasons , you may decide that this is a temporary change for you, that in a few months or years you may want to come back and revisit some of the old ways and attachments you’ve opted to leave behind in your next cycle. So try not to go burning any bridges or towers (wink wink).
5 Questions to Ask Yourself When You Feel Stuck
Let these be journal prompts, inner check-ins, or questions to ask your guides:
Is it just time to rest?
Have I confused burnout with failure?
Is this situation actually reparable — or just in need of a shift?
Sometimes it just needs a little space.
What new direction has been quietly calling me?
Even if I don’t have the full picture yet.
Is my body or intuition clearly saying NO to something I keep forcing?
What would it feel like to finally honor that no?
What do I actually want — not what I think I should want?
Desire usually holds the compass.
You don’t have to know why right now. Just listen. Pull an oracle card. Go for a walk. Pray about it. Journal it out. Check in with your guides, book a ‘breakthrough’ session if you need clarity and reassurance. You don’t have to do it alone.
The Leap-of-Faith Season
I’ve been here many times. The biggest one most people know about was leaving architecture. I didn’t know what was next — I just knew I didn’t want to do it anymore. I even tried different setups: flexible schedule, working with a wonderful architect who paid me well and let me work from home… but everything in me said no. So eventually I listened. And within a year I found myself on the path to shamanic and healing work — which was nowhere on my radar but somehow exactly where I was meant to land. Ten years later I love my work, and I can feel my next breakthrough coming.
If That’s Where You Are Too…
Sometimes all we need is someone to ask the right question, or sit with us in the fog long enough for a little clarity to appear or to help us to give ourselves permission to rest or shift. That’s exactly what my Breakthrough Sessions are for. Not pressure. Not a lecture. Not even a typical ‘Reading’. They are safe space, presence, guidance, reassurance and a few strategic questions to help you tune into your hearts guidance.
Just for a moment — set logic aside.
Follow your heart.
