Welcome to the New Year, beautiful souls! I've been holding onto a story that's seriously been burning a hole in my heart. I kept telling myself, "Wait for the perfect moment." But the Universe, in its infinite wisdom, was like, “Nope, the time is now. People need to hear this.” So, buckle up, because here we go.

This past holiday season, I found myself in the middle of a health storm. The entire year of 2023 had been a rollercoaster of stress and my body struggling to stay balanced through it, but everything came crashing down in December. You know how they say hindsight is 20/20? Well, looking back, the universe was practically flashing neon signs at me. But let's be real – when you're in the thick of it, it's hard to see through the chaos.

It all started with my dog, Dresden. Early December, under the glow of the full moon, she suddenly got super sick. I initially thought, "Oh, it's just her body syncing up with the moon," because let's face it, I totally get that lunar connection. But when her illness stretched beyond my own moon time, I started to worry. Could it be her food? Or something more ominous?

Fast forward a week, and suddenly, I'm in the same boat. Diarrhea city. And to top it off, this bizarre smell starts seeping out of our bedroom vent. Turns out, our plumbing decided to throw a poop party under our house. Talk about a wake-up call from the universe! I remember looking at David and saying, “Feels like the universe is trying to tell us to clear some major crap out. But what exactly?” I was stumped.

Then, plot twist: Cousin Danielle, who's also this kickass massage therapist, gives me a massage, and I'm hit with this overwhelming urge to hurl. That night, I dreamt of finding articles about parasites on my laptop. I woke up thinking, “Parasites? Nah, can't be.” But the universe wasn’t done dropping hints.

The next night, another dream. This time, my friend Leah, a nurse, looks me dead in the eye and says, “Athena. Girl, you have SO many parasites in your body.” She showed me my own body, crawling with tiny white worms. Okay, message received loud and clear.

So, I wake up and head straight to the natural food store. I chat with the wise herbalist who hands me this two-part parasite cleanse kit, promising a total system clear and reboot. And that, is where my wild ride begins. Keep reading for the nitty-gritty, the lessons, and all the spirit messages that came with it.

Here’s my diary of the cleanse.

Day 1 (Sunday 12/31): Today I took my first dose of the parasite cleanse. Almost immediately, I felt incredibly sick with body aches, headaches, stomach pain, nasal congestion, fever, and chills. I was completely couch-ridden and had to use a castor oil pack that Lauren lent me.

Day 2 (Monday 1/1): I was bedridden, still in severe pain. I took 800 mg of ibuprofen, which eased the body pain a bit but caused my fever to shoot up. Despite the pain and fever, I found some solace in watching "Good Omens" on TV.

Day 3 (Tuesday): Overwhelmed by a strong urge, I took a salt bath. Still battling fever and chills, I wondered if I might be dying. I spent the entire day in bed, watching YouTube videos about parasite cleanses and learning about 'die off' symptoms.

Day 4 (Wednesday): Feeling terrible, I continued to stay in bed, watching YouTube and napping. I lost my sense of smell and taste, which made me question if I had also caught COVID. I couldn't smell anything, not even my own bodily functions.

Day 5 (Thursday): Despite my illness, I managed to get my four small children ready for school. I meditated on the word 'surrender' and received energy work from my shaman friends.

Day 6 (Friday): I seriously contemplated going to the hospital. Was I dying? I saw a performance of "I Was Here" and decided it would be my funeral song. I received an article from my friend Lauren about the emotional effects of a parasite cleanse, which reassured me.

Day 8 (Monday): I had a call with my therapist, ready to talk and process the trauma I was experiencing during this cleanse.

Day 14 (Saturday): I felt extremely sick and depleted, barely managing to take down the Christmas decorations. My intuition told me I had overexerted myself the past few days, and my body was forcing me to rest. Later, I managed to go to a comedy show, reaffirming my belief that laughter is the best medicine.

In the following days: I continued with treatments like infrared sauna, lemon balm tea, and lymphatic massages, and started a new regimen with probiotics, digestive enzymes, and fiber powder.

Starting the Second 14-Day Cycle: Finally, I felt reenergized. My sense of smell and taste returned, and I felt great. My nose was finally clear. I was back, ready to start the next phase of the cleanse, feeling supported and energized.

Let's delve a little deeper into this journey, a journey that has been as enlightening as it has been challenging. Here's what Spirit revealed to me in a way that resonated with my soul.

Parasites – they're not just those little critters we prefer not to think about. They are more than that. They're like a physical metaphor for the deeper issues we face, akin to diseases like cancer. But unlike cancer, which develops internally and remains dormant, gathering more toxins, parasites invade from the outside. They enter through our habits, the energy we absorb from others, the spaces we inhabit, and yes, through what we consume – both food and water.

Now, here’s a deep and not-so-secret truth: parasites exist not just biologically, but also mentally and spiritually. When it comes to those draining human energies, I encourage you to write an energetic letter to each person you feel may be siphoning your energy. Don’t send it – it's for your eyes only. You might keep it as a reminder of your own power, or you might choose to burn it as a symbol of release. For me, I chose to keep mine; it even brings a smile to my face when I reread it. If it stirs up anger in you, though, let it go in flames.

For spiritual parasites, I recommend seeking a parasite cleansing frequency meditation on Youtube or Spotify or connecting with a trusted shaman. Especially for those of you who work closely with others or are naturally empathetic, remember, there are energies out there, akin to ticks, that latch on and need to be gently removed.

These parasites, in all their forms, feed on lower vibrational energies – fear, hatred, trauma. It's remarkable how these unwelcome guests feast on the very energies that weigh us down. I’ll never forget the initial shock during the first day of my cleanse when my long-suppressed traumas began to surface. Initially, I was taken aback by the intensity of the die-off symptoms. Then, I feared it might be Covid. By the second day, I even questioned my sanity – how could a physical cleanse stir up such deep emotional responses? What I learned was that as the potent herbs began to eradicate the parasites, the parasites were releasing everything they had consumed – heavy metals, toxins, bacteria, pathogens, and yes, even trauma.

Now, let's talk about managing those intense die-off symptoms.

I turned to Epsom salt baths, allowed the fever to do its work, took ibuprofen for body pain, and sought relief in the warmth of an infrared sauna. I also found solace in turmeric tea and lemon balm tea, which I sipped throughout the day. Along with these, I also used: •antiviral herbal tinctures •garlic lemon water •activated charcoal tablets •chlorophyll •zinc drops •vitamin D drops •professional lymphatic massages •self-administered lymphatic massages •a neti pot for my severe congestion •facial steam bowl for congestion and head pain

Therapy and shamanic healing played a significant role in addressing the trauma and external parasites, as did journaling.

If you're on a budget, I would suggest (in addition to a selected anti-parasitic tincture) focusing on the infrared sauna, lemon balm tea, a reliable immune support supplement, Epsom salt baths, and self lymphatic massages.

After overcoming the die-off phase, I started a new regimen that included a probiotic, digestive enzymes, fiber powder for my daily green and protein drinks, and continued with chlorophyll, which I've grown quite fond of.

And, the question everyone seems to be curious about: Did I see the critters in my... you know? Everyone's curious when you talk parasite cleanse. Truth be told, I didn’t want to look. But about three days in, curiosity got the better of me, and yes, I saw what looked like smaller pumpkin seeds. At first, I wondered if I had eaten something with seeds, but then I remembered I hadn’t eaten in two days. Spirit later guided me to an article about various die-off symptoms specific to different types of parasites, confirming my suspicions that these were indeed evidence of a tapeworm.

So, how did I come to be a host for these parasites? Reflecting on the year 2023, when I didn’t feel my healthiest, I realized that it was a culmination of several smaller incidents leading up to the major event at Christmas, courtesy of my dear pup, Dresden. Repeated messages from Spirit indicated that the source of my illness was linked to my pets. After extensive research and a moment of revelation one day, post-recovery, I’m snacking with my hands (like the refined lady I am) when Dresden comes in. I give her a treat, she licks my hand, and as I go back to my snack – BAM! – it hits me. That’s probably how these buggers hitched a ride.

This journey has been an eye-opener in more ways than one. It’s taught me the importance of being vigilant about my health, both physical and spiritual, and has reminded me to always listen to the subtle, yet powerful messages from Spirit.

If you're experiencing hormonal imbalances, odd autoimmune symptoms, or if you're dealing with some weird autoimmune stuff, it's time to tune into your body’s needs. Start with high-quality probiotics, a fiber-rich powder, some effective digestive enzymes, and consider a mild parasitic cleanse. Give it a solid month and just watch the magic unfold. This is a journey of healing that, I promise, can only do good.

If you have a sensitive system and find yourself feeling overwhelmingly unwell, listen to your body's wisdom. It's okay to reduce the dosages. But remember, sometimes, you’ve got to trek through the storm before you reach the sunshine. It's about a week or two of the tough stuff before you start seeing the light. I prayed, meditated like a boss, and had the support of my incredibly gifted fellow shamans through the roughest patches. Use the detox tools I share to soften the die off symptoms but unfortunately like the practice of giving birth, it’s just going to suck for a little… Then you’ll be giving birth to a brand new you. And that is worth it.

Spirit is nudging us, gently yet persistently, to make parasitic cleansing a regular part of our health routine. As our world evolves, shifts, and grows, parasites are going to become an increasingly common part of our human experience. This is especially true with the changes in food production. Embrace gentle, effective detox methods as a quarterly practice, aligning with the changing seasons. Fasting is another powerful tool – a deliberate choice to not feed the parasites within, giving your body a much-needed break – it’s like telling those parasites, “Sorry, kitchen’s closed!” for a few days. However, if your body's been playing host to these critters for a while, you might need a more thorough cleanse. Listen to your body – stomach pain, gas, indigestion, bloating, hair loss – these are all signs saying, “Hey, it’s time for a gut cleanse!”

Sometimes, what you’re dealing with might be fungal. Trust your intuition on this. Many of the antiviral and anti-parasitic herbs I've shared – and those you’ll find through trusted sources or holistic practitioners – are safe and can tackle fungal infections too. I've been guided strongly towards probiotics specifically formulated for candidiasis.

I know this is a whole lot to digest (pun intended!), so take what resonates with you and come back to this as needed. Share with your friends who need it. And hey, I’d love to hear your stories. Please, share in the comments below your own experiences with parasites and your journey to healing. Let’s create a supportive circle where we lean on each other as we navigate these changing times. Together, we're stronger. We’ve got this!
